The ION Coating System

ION BASE COAT

First stage of the ION coating system provides solid primary layer that fills microscopic imperfections found in clear coats. As a result, it becomes resistant to oxidation, corrosion, abrasion, and UV damaged.

ION TOP COAT

The second stage of the ION coating system helps activate the ION exchange reaction. This provides superior hydrophobic properties and increased chemical and abrasive resistance.

While many auto enthusiasts and even detailers mistakenly think that ceramic coating is a substitute for clear area (paint protection film), in actuality it is a substitute for waxing. The major goal is to stop dirt, grime, and stain stains from damaging the clear coat by appearing on the paint finish.

Ceramic coating, also known as nano-ceramic coating, can be a permanent or semi-permanent solution to your difficulties, depending on the coating and kind of polymer used. Due to its inherent chemical properties, it does not break down under regular atmospheric conditions like rain or summer.

Ceramic Pro created the original 9H ceramic coating that permitted installers to stack multiple layers to provide maximum protection and longevity. Advancements in manufacturing technology have allowed Ceramic Pro to once again revolutionize the ceramic coating industry with the launch of Ceramic Pro ION and ION Top Coat.

Ceramic car coatings protect your car's clear coat from environmental damage and UV rays, so, yes, they are good for your car.

With proper maintenance, most will last 2 to 5 years or 30,000 to 50,000 miles. However, many factors play a role in how long ceramic coatings effectively protect car paint. Mileage is the biggest enemy – the more annual miles a car travels, the faster the coatings deteriorate.

Car waxes with ingredients like carnauba wax and synthetic shine polymers are perfectly safe to use—and even recommended to use—on top of ceramic coatings.

It's important to avoid all of the following...
    • Hard mineral water.
    • Abrasives or washing.
    • Automatic brush washes.
    • High or Low pH Soaps (pH Neutral only)
    • Avoid parking under trees or other locations where bird droppings or tree sap may fall on the coating.

There's hundreds of ways the vehicle could develop swirl marks. Ceramic Coatings offer hard protection and they will help prevent some of this marring and swirl marks, but they are not scratch proof. It only takes one bad wash to put small scratches into your vehicle's coating.

A topcoat layer and two or three ceramic coating layers are usually required. UV (ultraviolet) light protection is provided as standard. A ceramic coat layer, when applied correctly to a car's paint, can provide complete coverage in just two coats.

Coatings will not peel when properly applied. They are bonded firmly to the paintwork. If you search the internet, you will probably be able to find many examples of incorrectly applied ceramic coatings, and so far we have not seen any of these peel off either.

Ceramic coatings are inorganic so that they won't damage your car's paint job. This makes them a great alternative to waxes and sealants. The best part is that they remain effective for two years, while wax and sealant can wear out after only months.
